Gerald E. Decoeur, 95, of Liverpool, passed away May 31, 2025. Gerald was born in Tupper Lake, New York on September 19, 1929 to Aristid and Winifred Decoeur.
While serving with the Army during the Korean War, Gerald was helping a fellow serviceman with a home study course on drafting, realizing he could master this skill Gerald would use this knowledge and retire after 50 years as a draftsman from O'Brien & Gere. Gerald was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He would enjoy Ballroom Dancing with his Wife, traveling, bowling in many leagues and fishing. In his later years he would be known in his community by his daily walks and visiting all his neighbors and their four legged friends, knowing them all by name.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria L. Decoeur.
He is survived by his daughter, Greta (Steven) Riegelman; two grandsons, Josiah Riegelman, Christian Riegelman; three nephews, Tom Chretien, Jerry Chretien, Paul Chretien.
Family and friends may call on June 6, 2025, from 6pm - 7pm at New Comer Cremations and Funerals with a funeral service to follow at 7pm.
Interment will be at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
