Gerald R. Pirong

Gerald R Pirong, 81, of Syracuse, passed away July 10, 2025. Gerald was born in Syracuse, New York on December 21, 1943 to Eugene and Irene Pirong. Gerald retired from JR Auto in Solvay, NY where he had been employed as a parts delivery driver. In his free time, he enjoyed hunting, camping, everything involving cars including racing, the outdoors and of course his dog Gunner. Gerald was a U.S. Army veteran.  

He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Irene Pirong; brothers David and Thomas Pirong.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon Pirong; two Sons, Richard (Kelly) Pirong of Syracuse, Daniel (Lydia) Pirong of Loris, SC; daughter, Erika (Charles) McHale of Syracuse; seven grandchildren, Kimberly Pirong, Richard Pirong, Jr., Jonathan Pirong, Joseph Pirong, Gray Kulesa, Valerie Kulesa, and Harper McHale;  two brothers, James and William Pirong, both of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Monday, July 21, 2025 from 3:00 pm-5:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals , 705 N. Main St, N.Syracuse. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 pm.
