Please remember Gregory Charles Keener, beloved husband, teacher, and devoted community servant, who passed away in his home on April 23, 2026.
Gregory dedicated 31 years of his life to educating students at Paul V. Moore High School and coaching golf. His passion for the Arts and his mentorship left a lasting impact for all who knew him. He was the first recipient of the school districts Performing Arts wall of fame, an honor that reflected his commitment to his students and the Arts.
A volunteer and leader, Gregory served on the Board of Directors of Onieda Lake Association, chaired CNY's Scholastic Art Awards, and led the North Shore Ducks Unlimited Chapter. He also generously volunteered as a guide at the Constantia Fish Hatchery, sharing his knowledge and love of the outdoors with others.
An avid outdoorsman and fisherman, Greg loved spending time in nature with his hunting and fishing buddies. He enjoyed traveling with his wife of 53 years, Donna Keener. His warmth, leadership and dedication to his community will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He will be fondly remembered by his sister Susan Calandra (Micheal), sister-in-law Michelle Keener his deceased brothers Micheal Keener, Vance Keener III, His children Mindy Caples (Joseph) & Gregory Keener (Andrea) & grandchildren Dylan, Thomas, Aidan, Donovan, Jackson, and Ariyah.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oneida Lake Association or Hospice of CNY.
