Grover B. Cleveland, 63, longtime resident of Fulton, NY, passed away in Oswego from a respiratory illness. Born in Constantia, NY, he attended Central Square Schools, ran track and cross country, went to BOCES for electronics, and graduated in 1980.
Grover was and Air Force Veteran and was stationed in Spain for two years. He received awards for his job performances.
Grover also suffered from a mental illness that hurt others as well as himself. He was never able to lead a normal life, often living in group homes receiving the help he needed. He enjoyed working with the people at Oswego Industries as well as Catholic Charities.
Grover was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Kay, as well as his brother who very recently passed, Ralph Cleveland.
He is survived by his siblings, Patti, Art, Tom, Orren, Roger, Paul, Cathy and Allen; and fourteen nieces and nephews.
Grover will be remembered for his kindness, his ability to make friends, his sense of humor, his love for God, and a tireless devotion to his indoor/outdoor cats that would visit him.
A Celebration of Life will be held later this year for family and friends.
