Harvey D. Geary, 90, of West Monroe, passed away May 18th, 2026 at Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, following a brief illness.
Harvey was born on February 15th, 1936, in Vinalhaven Maine to Fred and Sadie (Ames) Geary. After graduating from Fulton High School in 1953, he went on to serve with the U.S. Army in South East Asia during the Korean Conflict. Afterwords, Harvey served in the Fulton Police Department, before retiring in 1991 from the NYS DEC as an Environmental Conservation Officer.
While working for the DEC, he was a quartermaster for Reg. 7, as well as a fire arms instructor for the NYS Police Academy in Albany, NY. He was a proud recipient of many awards and medals from these various institutions.
Harvey was member of VFW Post 7325 of Constantia, NY, American Legions Post #0915 in Central Square NY, as well as Post #858 in Cleveland, NY. He greatly enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a member of many Rod & Gun Clubs.
Harvey was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Sadie (Ames) Geary; son, Rande Geary; brothers Richard and Herbert Geary; and sister Marylin George.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Beverly; son David(Patricia) Geary of Constantia NY; brother, Fred of Vero Beach FL; sister, Ethelyn of Syracuse NY; daughter-in-law, Linda (McCullough) Geary of Desterham LA; along with many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
The family has elected not to hold any formal services.
