Jacques "Jac" W. Battes

Jacques “Jac” W. Battes, 85, of North Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 with his family by his side. He was born on August 12, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to the late William A. and Dorothy P. Battes.

 He received his undergrad degree from R.I.T. and later obtained a Master’s Degree from Case Western Reserve University, Ohio.

 He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jac owned Hallmark Stores for many years. He later created JB Enterprises, becoming an independent manufacturer rep.

 Jac enjoyed gardening, golfing, traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was a man of faith, reading scriptures daily along with hosting prayer groups. Jac also spent half of his time in Florida, where he shared many fond memories.

 He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte; children, Brett and Craig Battes; stepchildren, Jeremy (Teal) Munroe, Heather (Bobby) Oeinck, Suzanne (Keith) Furcinito-Edwards and Jo-Anne (Justin) Furcinito-Richardson; grandchildren, Cherish, Faye, D’Ante, Kylee, Greyson, Maverick and Penny; sister, Leda Linderman and nephew, Todd Linderman.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 from 4-7pm. Funeral Services will follow at 7pm. Burial will take place at North Syracuse Cemetery on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 11am.
