James Clabeaux

James Edmund Clabeaux, 80, of Baldwinsville NY, passed away December 13, 2023.

James was born in Buffalo, New York on March 26, 1943 to Edmund and Evelyn Clabeaux.

James received his degree as a licensed Optician from Erie community college. He later moved to Syracuse NY to work for Dr. Richard K. Dickinson, owner of Skyline Optical. After 2 years, he then purchased Skyline Optical and in 1985 then moved the business from the Skyline building to W. Taft Rd in North Syracuse. James and his wife, Lois remained the owners until James' retirement in 2016. Throughout his life he was part of numerous organizations and had many hobbies. He was a special deputy with the Sheriff's Dept in the 60's. He was on the board of directors for the NYS Society of Opticians . He was a member of the Central NY Model Train Club, and was a long time member of the Empire State Arabian Horse Association. James was also a member of the N. Syracuse Lyon's club. James had a passion for boating and waterskiing and working on his model train layout. James spent many years riding and showing horses with his wife and daughter.

He is survived by his Spouse of 48 years, Lois Clabeaux, Daughter, Nicole (Joshua) Guy; Grandson, Tristan Guy.

Family and friends may call on January 11, 2024 from 4-7pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, where funeral services will be held 7pm.
