Listen to Obituary

James A. Conroy 80

Jim left us on Saturday March 14th. Jim was born in Syracuse, NY on June 16, 1945.

He is predeceased by his father Patrick and mother Mary, and brothers John, Thomas, and Martin.

Jim was affectionately known by his nickname Cleaver, especially at Niagara Mohawk where he retired as a line foreman in 2005. Jim enjoyed boating, golf, traveling with his wife Doreen, and his daily trips to the Cicero American Legion.

Jim is survived by the love of his life Doreen, who he has been married to for 57 years. He is also survived by daughter Kelly and husband Michael Hills, Edgewater, FL, daughter Maureen, Albuquerque, NM, granddaughter Julia Wood, NJ, his two furry grandpets who were constantly at his feet waiting for treats, Lucca and Turbo, and several nieces and nephews.

We are especially grateful for his good friends Billy Bryant, Buzzy, his pitch partner Richie, Doug, and all of his pals/family at the Cicero American Legion.

Also a special thank you to his “adopted granddaughter” Katrina who was a great help in Jim’s final days.

There will be no calling hours, but at Jim’s request there will be a celebration of life on Saturday March 21st from 2:00 to 5:00 at Cicero American Legion Post 787.
