James Stearns

James F. Stearns, 83, of North Syracuse, passed away on February 5, 2026. James was born in Syracuse, New York on April 16, 1942 to the late Frank and Kathryn Stearns. 

James was an Air Force veteran and retired from Baldwinsville Central Schools where he was a maintenance mechanic for many years. He enjoyed flying remote-controlled airplanes, playing his keyboard, inventing and experimenting with electronics, and riding a recumbent tricycle. 

He was predeceased by his first wife Nancy (nee Mace) Stearns; second wife, Barbara (nee Dixie) Stearns; siblings, John Shaffer and Mary (nee Stearns) O'Donnell; and grandson, Nicholas Sperry. 

He is survived by his children, Andrea (nee Stearns) Sperry, and Andrew Stearns; step-children, David Wheeler, and Richard Wheeler; grandchildren, Melissa Caughron-Coada, Amanda Sperry, Gavin Sperry, and Robert DeGregorio; nephews, Chris O'Donnell, and Frank O'Donnell.
