It is with great sadness that the family of Jane Elizabeth (Turner) Sozzi announces her sudden passing on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at the age of 80. Her life was beautifully defined by compassion, loyalty, and an unwavering dedication to the people she loved most.

Deeply proud of her County Clare, Ireland roots, Jane embraced her Irish heritage. She loved the music, the stories, the traditions, and the unmistakable Irish humor that shaped her outlook on life. She often shared sayings passed down through her family, adding her own sparkle to each one. To her, being Irish was not just ancestry, it was a way of living with heart, with faith, and with an unshakeable love for family.

Born and raised in New York, Jane graduated from Lakeland High School in Peekskill, New York, where she formed lifelong friendships and began building the strong, loving foundation that would define her life.

A devoted matriarch, she took profound pride in her family’s accomplishments and found her greatest fulfillment in nurturing those she loved. Family celebrations were brighter because of her presence, her thoughtful traditions, and the laughter she effortlessly inspired.

She married the love of her life, Victor Edward Sozzi, on October 24, 1964. They celebrated an extraordinary 61 years of marriage together.

Jane will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Victor; their three daughters, Margaret (John) Lerner, Kathleen Sozzi, and Kristen (Patrick) Penfield; their five adored grandchildren, Kristen Elizabeth (Christopher) Phelps, Catherine Jane Lerner, Patrick Fitzgerald Penfield, Kerry Clare Lerner, and Julia Hayden Penfield; and her great-granddaughters, Emma Jane Phelps and Ava Elizabeth Phelps, who brought immeasurable joy into her life and were a constant source of pride and delight.

She is also survived by her beloved siblings, James Turner, George "Bud" (Judy) Turner, Ellen (Murray) Gould, Margaret (Michael) Fitzsimons; many extended family members, cousins, nieces, and nephews, who will forever cherish her warmth, humor, and unwavering love.

She was predeceased by her parents, George F. and Jane E. Turner; her brother, Thomas Turner; sisters-in-law, Deana Turner and Kathleen Turner; and brothers-in-law, Richard Sozzi, Leo Sozzi, and Charles Sozzi.

A private service will be held for the family.
