Janet D. Furrow, 81, of Chittenango, passed away April 25, 2025. Janet was born in Syracuse, New York on June 24, 1943 to Joseph and Marie Tomeny.
A proud graduate of St. Josephs School of Nursing, Janet dedicated her life to the service of others through a long and meaningful career in nursing.
She was preceded in death by mother, Marie Dyer; father, Joseph D. Tomeny; two siblings, David Tomeny, Daniel Dyer; and daughter, Joanne Gentile.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Gentile; two grandchildren, Hannah (Cory) Greene, Collin (Stephanie) Firenze; four great-grandchildren, Sophia Greene, Colton Greene, Uliana Firenze, Alyssa DeLine; siblings Maureen Myers; William (Christine) Tomeny; and Frankie the cat.
On Tuesday, April 29, 2025 the Nurse’s Honor Guard will welcome Janet to her final resting place at 2:30pm in the mausoleum at Assumption Cemetery, followed by a graveside service.
