Jean C. Fox

Jean C. Fox, born on November 6, 1931, in Hopewell, New York, passed away on April 22, 2026, in Cicero, New York. She was a cherished wife, loving mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother with a keen sense of humor.

Jean’s roots began in Hopewell, NY, where she was born to Maurice and Edna (Harris) Oberdorf. 

She enjoyed working at Spera’s Deli, Grocery and Meat Market for many years. She would fondly remember her time there while sitting out front of her house and often said how she missed it. She had a love of clothes, shoes, jewelry and accessories. She truly found her artistic flair when a Ceramic shop opened next door to her home. She delighted in painting, going to shows and competing and the new friend she discovered in Barbara Cook.

She cherished her many dogs and cats throughout the years. And her love of all animals was evident in her time spent watching birds, bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks visit her feeders just outside her kitchen window.

Jean’s family legacy continues through her children, son, Patrick (Kimberly) Fox; her daughters, Karen Tomski and Susan (Carl Rotunda) Fox; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 66 yrs, Robert M Fox; her daughter, Kathleen Wyffels; parents, Maurice and Edna Oberdorf; brother, Sonny; and two sisters, Ruth (Tootie) and Lois.

A visitation followed by a memorial service will be held on April 29, 2026, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, NY from 4-6PM, with the memorial service immediately following at 6PM.
