Jeffrey J. Burton

Jeffrey J. Burton passed away on August 6, 2026, shortly before his 66th birthday. Born on August 28, 1960, Jeff lived a life defined by his deep appreciation for the outdoors, his creativity, and the meaningful relationships he cultivated with family and friends.

Known fondly as Jeff, he found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He had a true passion for landscaping. His artistic side was evident in his love for drawing, an activity through which he expressed his imagination and perspective. Friends and family also remember Jeff's humor and loyalty as a steadfast fan of the Dallas Cowboys—though he was always quick to admit his particular admiration for the team's cheerleaders. Above all, Jeff cherished his time outdoors, where he felt most at peace. 

Jeff is survived by his daughter, Amanda Burton. He is also survived by his brother Christopher Campbell and sister-in-law Shannon Campbell, as well as his brother Max Spicer and sister Karen Spruill. 

He is predeceased by his mother, Anita Campbell, and his father, Bill Burton. Jeff was also preceded in death by his brothers Dave Burton and Eric Burton and his sister Peggy Reome. The absence of these cherished family members was felt deeply by Jeff throughout his life. 

A visitation for Jeff will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212, on August 25, 2026, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at Loomis Hill Cemetery, NY 13215, on the same day at 2:00 pm.
