Jere Haight of Syracuse, NY, passed peacefully on Saturday evening. May 2, 2026.
Jere was a skilled tool and die maker by trade, known for his craftsmanship and strong work ethic. He enjoyed putzing around the house, always finding something to fix or improve. Jere had a lifelong love of trains and airplanes, and one of his most cherished memories was attending the world’s largest airshow in Paris in 2009. In 2017, Jere spent five weeks in Paris with his family during the Christmas and New Year season, a trip that also included time in London, another experience he treasured.
In his quieter moments, Jere enjoyed sitting by the fire with a good glass of Scotch. Jere was also an avid Buffalo Bills fan.
Jere was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He also spent many years in the National Guard.
Jere is survived by his daughter, Andrea Lawson, and son-in-law, Lucien Lawson, as well as his extended “family.” Jere held a special place in his heart for those affectionately referred to as his unofficial daughters: his “blonde daughter” Robin Woodson, his “Italian daughter” Joyce Donatelli, his “other blond daughter” Rachel Seibert, and his “redheaded daughter” CJ Spiwak, as well as Jon and Deena Rancier, who lovingly referred to him as “Uncle Jere.”
Jere will be deeply missed by many.
There won’t be any public services; instead, the family will celebrate Jere’s life in private.
