Joan Dano

Joan Dano, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 23, 2024. She was born in Syracuse, NY to the late Frances and Ross Proughty. Joan was a lifelong resident of North Syracuse, NY and a parishioner of St. Rose of Lima. She enjoyed working with the children at St. Rose of Lima School, retiring as a secretary in 2019. Joan’s favorite place to visit was the Adirondack Mountains. Most of all, Joan loved her seven grandchildren. 

Joan is survived by her four children, Leonard (Cynthia) Dano, Timothy (Brenda) Dano, Eric (Crystal) Dano and Jennifer Dodge; seven grandchildren, Madison, Molly, Jason, Gabriel, Ty, Alexis and Ross.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 27, 2024, 4-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Joan’s memory to the Adirondack Center for Loon Conservation, PO Box 195, Ray Brook, NY 12977.
