Joan S. Ventrone

Joan S. Ventrone, 83, of Cicero, passed away November 28, 2023. Joan was born in Syracuse, New York on July 20, 1940 to Charles and Virginia Schad. Joan retired from Ramada Inn. She was known as, Momma V and Gramz to her family. In her free time, she enjoyed listening to her favorite artists, Andrea Bocelli and Il Volo. Joan had a true love of music. Back in 2018 at the age of 78, she raced to the stage to meet Paul Anka, creating a memory to last a lifetime. She was an avid fan of the show the Twilight Zone. During a family movie night, she never ceased to give away the ending, remembering every word. Joan enjoyed her weekly breakfasts with her family and friends and collecting word jumbles from the Sunday newspaper that her son delivered. Gramz was known as the "Christmas Angel." She created Christmas magic for her family, decorating her house to the nines and cooking the best homemade sauce and meatballs ever. She had a strong faith in God and said the rosary every day. She had the biggest heart and welcomed all into her world. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart. She loved to watch them grow and never missed their daily Facetime calls. We will all miss her great sense of humor and how she had the innate ability to make everyone around her feel special and loved.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alexander Ventrone Jr.; daughter, Virginia Ventrone; father, Charles Schad; mother, Virginia Schad; and brothers, Charles and Douglas Schad.

Joan is survived by her two daughters, Connie (Jay) Duger and Anne (Steven) Sikora; son, Alexander (Tricia) Ventrone III; five grandchildren, Tony Sikora, Jason (Andrea) Duger, Aly Sikora, Felecia Ventrone, and Cassie Ventrone; and four great grandchildren, Scarlett Ventrone, Evelyn Duger, Delilah Green, and Jack Duger.

Services will be held privately. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan's memory to St Jude Children's Hospital.
