John Sinclair Dodge, 85, of Cleveland, NY passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026 at Iroquois Nursing Home.
John was born on April 27, 1940 in Syracuse, NY to John R. and Louise Dodge. He grew up in Central New York.
John worked as a Crane Operator at Crucible Steel for most of his career. John served in the Marine Corps out of high school and was honorably discharged.
In 1986, John married Luella Marie Powers in West Monroe, NY. Together they shared 39 years of marriage.
He enjoyed fishing, especially Oneida Lake, and will be remembered for his charming spirit and personality.
John is survived by his son, John E. (Carla) Dodge; stepchildren, Elizabeth (Tim) Swank, Sue, Jim (Diana) Powers, MaryAnn (Mike) Seeley; siblings, Bob (Sue) Dodge, Cindy (Bob) Keyes, Jessie (Jim) Carr, Ed (Mary) Dodge, Jim (Debbie) Dodge and Pam Dodge; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie; sisters, Linda Colabufo, Karen "Suzie" Juszek, Ginny Longo; brother, Dick Dodge; and stepchildren, Barbara, Paul and John Beverly.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 2nd 4-6pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, NY 13212 with a service to follow at 6pm.
A Celebration of Life in John's honor will be held during the summer.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNY SPCA in John's memory.
