John Menzies

John Menzies, 76, of Phoenix, New York, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026, surrounded by his family.

John grew up in Cato, New York, where he was raised on a dairy farm. He was proud of his farming roots and was a devoted "John Deere man" throughout his life. John was also a proud Army veteran and spent more than 35 years as a truck driver. In his retirement, he worked part-time for Cedar Creek Farms in Cato, New York. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his dedication to his family, and the many friendships he made over the years. 

He is survived by his wife, Laraine Menzies; his daughter, Renee Powell; his son, James Sutliffe and daughter-in-law Amelia; his brother, Danny Menzies and sister-in-law Patty; his grandchildren, Matracia Powell, Justin Sutliffe and his wife Lauren, Joshua Sutliffe, and Mariah Sutliffe; his great-granddaughters, Ava, Aubrey, and Eden Sutliffe, As well as several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his parents, Vincent and Pearl Menzies; his brothers, Lawrence and Michael Menzies; and his beloved niece, Danielle Menzies.

There will be no services.
