John E. Vanderpool, 87, passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, after a long battle with cancer.
John was a veteran of the Korean War.
He retired from Rollway Bearing, and belonged to numerous car clubs in the area with his 1955 Chevy.
John was predeceased by his son-in-law, Scott Faulkner.
John is survived by his companion of over 40 years, Sarah E. Lyons; children, Margaret (Howard) Blair, Debbie Creedon, Sandra Faulkner, John (Sue Hunt) E. Vanderpool, Jr.; step-children, Edith Buttaro, David (Carol) Lyons, Rachel Picitell and Esther Lyons; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A chapel service will be held on Monday, April 8th, at 1:30pm, at Onondaga Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 4069 Howlett Hill Rd, Syracuse, NY 13215.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Association.
