Jordan Peyer

Jordan Peyer went to be with the Lord on August 26, 2026 at the age of 26.

Jordan was born on February 11, 2000, in Syracuse, New York to Robert (Bob) and Carol Peyer. Jordan graduated from Liverpool High School in 2018; a lover of music, theatre, and performing onstage, Jordan’s high school career was defined by his participation in Liverpool High School musicals, Concert Chorale, and FAME. His passion and enthusiasm for music and the arts defined not only his high school experience but also his life.

Jordan will be remembered as being a friend to all: His boundless acceptance, compassion, and enthusiasm drew people to him and made him a critical component of all groups he was part of. His love of people, combined with his quirky sense of humor, aided him as he immersed himself in several musical groups throughout his life. In 2015 Jordan joined the barbershop chorus Harmonic Collective, which allowed him to participate in international competitions in Reno, Orlando, Salt Lake City, and San Antonio. In addition to Harmonic Collective, one of the things Jordan was most proud of in his life was his barbershop quartet, Children of the Chord. Jordan’s commitment to these groups was reflected through weekly rehearsals with his friends and daily practice at home-his mother and sister will miss hearing him rehearse musical numbers, songs, and barbershop tags loudly while in the shower.

While music was undeniably Jordan’s greatest passion, he also deeply loved animals-namely his two cats, Sophie and Ruby Sue; video games; movies; cooking; and time spent with family. Jordan never missed an opportunity to play video games with friends and loved to analyze the soundtracks, visuals, and storylines with others. Jordan was also an avid movie watcher; he spent much of his time watching-and later quoting-Westerns and action movies with his paternal grandfather and slapstick comedies, such as Robin Hood: Men in Tights, the live-action Scooby-Doo movies, and Napoleon Dynamite, with his father and sister. Jordan loved film almost to a fault-it was difficult for him to give a brief synopsis, as he would talk so much about the movie to the point that he’d give spoilers. Beyond video games and films, Jordan loved to cook and often fondly recalled cooking with his maternal grandmother, Lois, before her passing. His family will remember the many trips they took throughout the years, especially those to Walt Disney World and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. In particular, his family will remember the impossibility of getting Jordan out of a pool while on vacation and his unique ability to make friends with every other kid on vacation that he met.

Jordan is survived by his mother, Carol Peyer (Giovanni); his sister, Jenna Peyer; his maternal grandmother, Sally Wargo; and his aunts Linda (Scott) Berry, Diane (Steve) Mackey, Sandy Peyer, and Lu-Anne Squires. He also leaves behind several cousins and close friends, whom he loved dearly.

Jordan was preceded in death by his father, Robert Peyer; his maternal grandfather, Frank Rowe; and his paternal grandparents, Peter Peyer and Lois Peyer. Jordan never missed an opportunity to tell others about his beloved father, whose sudden death permanently shaped the way Jordan thought about life, relationships, and family. Those who knew him understood the profound impact that his grandparents, with whom he shared a special bond, had in his life.

Visitation will be held on September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. A graveside service will follow from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in North Syracuse, 555 South Bay Road, North Syracuse, NY 13212.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to JDRF in an effort to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
