Joseph A. Perrone Sr.

Joseph A. Perrone, Sr. 86, of East Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday August 20, 2025 at the Onondaga Center surrounded by loving family. Joseph was born in Syracuse on July 29, 1939. Joseph served in the US Navy and retired from P&C Foods.

He was predeceased by his son, Christopher Perrone and two sisters, Carmella Colosi & Rosemary Beck;

He is survived by his wife Margaret Perrone, daughter, Cheryl (James) Knapp; son, Joseph (Theresa) Perrone Jr.; 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, along with his brother-in-law Frank Strange, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Joe enjoyed fishing, family gatherings and card games, and weekly breakfasts at DEE's Diner with friends he grew up with. He loved old Westerns and coaching the Orange Men from his old recliner. He was known by his Grand kids as Papa, and great grand kids as "Papa Donut". He was loved by friends and family, and will be dearly missed.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 26, 2025 from 11-12pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., N. Syracuse, with services at 12noon. Burial will follow at Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery.
