Joseph Sacco, Jr., a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully at the VA Hospital on November 18, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on December 28, 1934, in Syracuse, NY, Joseph was a man of considerable warmth and strength, whose life was marked by love, dedication, and an enduring legacy.
A graduate of Blodgett Vocational School, Joseph’s education set him on a path that would lead to a fulfilling life. He served in the United States Army, where he was honorably discharge in 1957.
In 1955, Joseph married his high school sweetheart, Connie Spicer, a partnership that flourished for an impressive 67 years. Together, they built a nurturing home filled with laughter and love, raising three sons: Scot (Joanne), Jeff (Noreen), and Tim (Kim). Joseph was immensely proud of his family, cherishing every moment spent with them, including his grandchildren, Joey, Missy, Samantha, Cara, Colie, Joe, and Collin, as well as his great-grandchildren.
Joseph was known for his vibrant personality and his wide array of hobbies. In his earlier years, he was an avid bowler, earning numerous trophies for his skills. He also enjoyed playing Bocce Ball and engaging in spirited card games with his friends, all of which demonstrated his love of camaraderie and good company. His sweet kitty, Meesha, brought joy and comfort to his later years, providing companionship that he treasured.
Family was paramount to Joseph, and he maintained a close-knit relationship with his sister, Marlene (Don), and his brother-in-law, Tom Moskal. He was especially grateful for the support of his beloved niece, Susan Kelly, who provided significant help with his medical needs and visited him often. Joseph also had many beloved nieces and nephews who he held dear to his heart.
Though he experienced the sorrow of losing his wife, Connie, his grandson, Nicholas, and his sister, Ann Moskal, Joseph's spirit remained resilient. His legacy of love and kindness will continue through his family and friends, who will fondly remember him for his cheerful nature and unwavering support.
