Joseph Silva Sr., born on October 29, 1928, in Allentown, PA, passed away peacefully after a short illness on May 3, 2025, in Syracuse, NY, surrounded by his family. He was a deeply cherished individual, known for his warmth and dedication to family and community.

Joseph retired after many years of employment as a Supervisor with Lamson Diebold. Throughout his life, Joseph was an avid enthusiast of various hobbies, displaying a particular passion for bowling, golfing, camping, and fishing. His adept skills extended beyond sports; he took great joy in refurbishing clocks and amassed an impressive collection of over 100 timepieces, which adorned his home. Additionally, Joseph had a flair for home remodeling, continuously enhancing living spaces for his family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rose Silva; son, Julius S. Silva; his parents, Julius and Clara Ostock Silva; and siblings, Dan and Rose. Joseph leaves behind a legacy filled with love and memories.

He is survived by his children, Joseph (Marie) Silva Jr., Kathy (Gary) Hafner and Becky (Anthony) Testa; 6 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and sister, Linda-Sue Knauss, several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Joseph's wishes there will be no services. Contributions in Joseph's memory may be made to the American Heart Association and Alzheimer's Association.

Joseph Silva Sr. will be remembered not only for his interests but for the profound impact he made in the lives of his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
