Joseph F. Votra Sr.

Joseph F. Votra Sr., 73, of Pennellville, passed away July 11, 2025. Joseph was born in Syracuse, New York on August 21, 1951 to Frank and Anna Votra. Joseph retired from Local 31 Painters Union where he was employed as a journeyman painter. In his free time, he enjoyed crossword puzzles, car restoration videos on You-Tube and anything to do with Gordon Ramsey. He liked cockerspaniel dogs and had owned several throughout his life. Joseph was a US Army veteran. 

 In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Votra, 2 sisters, Linda Snyder and Barbara Babiarz.

He is survived by his wife Janet Votra of Fulton, his son, Joseph F. Votra, Jr. of Pennellville; two brothers, Paul Votra from Jamesville, Francis Votra of Tallahassee; sister, Diana Votra of Baldwinsville; two grandchildren, Landon Votra and Leila Votra both of Jamesville.

Family and friends may call on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 4:00 pm- 5:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St, North Syracuse. Memorial contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to the Wounded Warriors Project.
