Listen to Obituary

Joyce M. Town, born February 22, 1947, in Syracuse, New York, passed away on October 28, 2026.

Joyce will be remembered as a woman whose life was deeply centered on the people she loved. Family was everything to her, especially her grandchildren, and that devotion shaped the way she lived and the memories she leaves behind. She also had a special love for collecting dolls, a pastime that reflected both her warmth and her appreciation for treasured things.

She took great pride in having her own ceramic business, which she operated from her home for many years. That work was a meaningful part of her life and a reflection of her dedication, creativity, and independent spirit. Joyce also enjoyed many trips to Tennessee, creating happy memories along the way. She shared many good times attending car shows with her husband and their Street Rod, a 1936 Ford, an interest that brought them enjoyment and companionship.

Above all, Joyce’s love lives on in her family. She is survived by her husband, George Town; her sons, Rob Town and his wife, Dawn, and Mark Town and his wife, Jenn; and her daughter, Robin Duck and her husband, Michael. She is also survived by her sisters, Brenda Walker, Doloras Bingham, Yvonne Lavier, Janice Huba, and Crystal Grant; and by her brother, Billy Way. Each of them carries forward memories of Joyce’s love, presence, and the many moments they shared together.

Joyce M. Town will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by all who knew her. Her life was marked by devotion to family, pride in her work, and joy in the simple pleasures she shared with those closest to her.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
