Judith A. Edwards, lovingly known as Judy, unfortunately lost her 10 year battle with cancer on May 27, 2025, at the age of 65.
She was born on August 25, 1959, and throughout her life brought joy and kindness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Judy's caring nature was complemented by her strong sense of humor, which she often shared with family, friends, and those in her community. Judy was a passionate individual, embracing a variety of hobbies that showcased her creativity. She found joy in her crafts, particularly crocheting and knitting, creating cherished items that were beloved by her family and friends.
Additionally, she had a knack for enjoyment, frequently indulging in playing slot machines and scratching off lottery tickets, as these activities brought her much delight. Her commitment to her community was evident in her longstanding involvement with the TNT Community Center in Syracuse, where she dedicated her time and energy to supporting her neighbors and friends. Judy's contributions will be remembered as an essential part of the fabric of her community.
Judy is survived by her spouse of 44 years, Charles "Butch" Edwards. She leaves behind her two daughters, Stella Edwards and Kelly (Brian) Edwards; her son, Patrick (Meghan) Edwards; her brother, Ken (Gemma) Elderbroom; and two sisters, MaryLou Elderbroom and Darlene (Chuck) Atkins. Her legacy continues through her five grandchildren, who will always cherish the memories of their grandmother's love and laughter, as well as through several nieces, nephews and cousins who looked up to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Marion Elderbroom, as well as her two sisters, Nancy and Karen, and her brother, Don. Each of them played a significant role in her life, and their memories will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
Judy will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched throughout her life. Her spirit of kindness and craft will continue to inspire all who knew her.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date.
