Karen A. Goettel

Karen A. Goettel, 72 of Syracuse, NY, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025 in her home. She was born on January 9, 1953 in Syracuse, NY to the late John S. Goettel and Mary A. (Leininger) Goettel.

 She was an avid church goer, movie enthusiast and a devoted mother, grandmother and friend. She is survived by her daughter, Stephanie (Robert) Leigh; grandchildren, Bethy (Tyler), Josh (Lea), Meghan, Hannah, Daisy and Garrett Jr.; several great-grandchildren; granddaughter-in-law, Cassie and extended family.

 Predeceased by her older sister, Bertha; son-in-law, Garrett Sr. and grandson, Michael Sr.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 from 4-6pm. Funeral Services will follow at 6pm.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities of Onondaga County.
