Karen A. Hubbard, 51, of Syracuse, passed away August 17, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. Karen was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on August 18, 1973 to Timothy and Martha Monte.
Her life was a living example of unconditional love, selflessness, and unwavering devotion to her family and community. Her greatest dream was simple yet profound: to be a dedicated mother. And she fulfilled that dream with her whole heart. Day and night, she poured her love into her children, holding them close, caring for them with gentleness and strength, and always being there no matter what. Her arms were a haven, her presence a constant comfort, and her heart open beyond measure. But her love didn't stop at her own children. She opened her home to any child in the neighborhood who needed a warm meal or a safe place to rest. Her kitchen was a place of refuge, and her table was always set with someone’s favorite dish, made with care and compassion.
For five years, she brought that same heart to her work at Tops, where she not only served customers but truly knew them listening to their stories, remembering their names, and making each person feel valued and seen. Karen lived a life of kindness expressed through service. She showed her love in every meal cooked, every door opened, every quiet act of giving. She prayed daily for others, lifting up the needs of family, friends, and even strangers with quiet faith and unwavering hope.
In the moments she took for herself, she found peace in nature finding joy in camping under the stars and watching birds with a quiet reverence, delighting in the simple beauty of the world around her. Her legacy is one of love without limits, and her memory will live on in every life she touched.
She was preceded in death by her father, Timothy Monte. She is survived by her spouse of 27 years, Kenneth M. Hubbard, three sons, Joshua Hubbard, of Syracuse, Jaccob Hubbard of Syracuse and Jonathan Hubbard of Syracuse; daughter, Emily Hubbard of Syracuse; mother Martha Monte and sister, Katherine Talone of Syracuse.
