Karen E. Wells

Karen Elizabeth Wells, passed away at the age of 73 on November 28, 2025, from an unexpected illness.

 She chose to stay in her room under Hospice care and face, without fear and with faith, her life’s end. In her final weeks, she was kept company by family members and friends for every minute until she felt it was time to be with God.

 Married for 30 years, Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Wells in 2017.

 She is survived by her loving children, Michael (Kristen) Bilardi, Steven Wells Jr. and Tracy Wells and five beautiful grandchildren, Esabella, Abriana, Nicholas, Madden and Karter.

 Born on October 4, 1952 at Otis Air Force Base in Falmouth, MA. She was the first born of her deceased parents, Richard in 2022 and Barbra Lefler in 2019.

 She was raised and lived in Syracuse since early childhood along with her siblings, Richard Lefler Jr., Connie Lefler and Kathy Lockwood.

 Karen with be remembered for her kindness, gentleness and tenderhearted nature. She will be remembered for her affinity to do unusual, but heartfelt arts and crafts. Most of all, she will be remembered for her infectious smile, vivacious laugh and outgoing personality stemming from her closeness to the deaf community and her dear friends within that circle. Karen was beloved and will always be thought of in the fondest of ways by everyone she touched.

 God will raise her with the same gentle hands she possessed and keep her in His loving embrace.

 Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main Street, North Syracuse, NY 13212. on Thursday, February 26, 2026 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
