Kathleen Jean Himes

Kathleen Jean Himes, 80, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 29, 2026. Born in Syracuse, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Marie (McCasland) Himes.

Kathleen retired as a secretary for the Upstate Department of Psychiatry. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling, visiting the casino, and cheering on her favorite teams as an avid SU and Buffalo Bills fan.

She was predeceased by her parents and her siblings, Harry C. “Buddy” Himes Jr., Valerie Himes, and Barbara (Himes) Wilburn.

Kathleen is survived by her brother, John Himes; nephew, Robert Wilburn Jr.; nieces, Stacey (Todd) Jantsch and Mary Wilburn; great-nephews, Kyle, Christian, and Cooper; and great-nieces, Abagail and Victoria.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse. Burial will immediately follow at Onondaga Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Kathleen’s memory.
