Kathy Lee Wright, 77, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Elderwood, with her family by her side. She was a lifelong resident of Liverpool. Kathy was a devoted wife and mother. She shared 37 years of marriage with her husband, Raymond “Pete” Wright, who predeceased her in 2009. Her daughters, Jodie and Jennifer, were the center of her life. Kathy dedicated 38 years of service to Nationwide Insurance Company, where she built lasting relationships and took great pride in her work. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and watching Family Feud. Kathy also liked staying in touch with family and friends on Facebook. 

She was predeceased by her parents, Leta (2009) and Harold Preston, Sr. (2008); her sister, Judy Preston (1977); her brothers, Harold Preston, Jr. (2021) and Jeffrey Preston, Sr. (2023); and her brother-in-law, Charles Guiles (2025). 

Kathy is survived by her daughters, Jodie and Jennifer; her sisters, Brenda (Glenn) Volmer of Central Square and Barbara Preston of Liverpool; her brother, Howard (Claudia) Preston of Baldwinsville; her sister-in-law, Marion Guiles of Liverpool; and several nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N. Main St., North Syracuse, Thursday from 4-7pm. Graveside services will be held at North Syracuse Cemetery Friday 9:30am. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathy’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 5015 Campuswood Dr., Suite 102, East Syracuse, NY 13057. 

The family extends their sincere gratitude to the staff on the third floor of Elderwood Nursing Home for the care and compassion shown to Kathy.
