Kay Barbara (Young) Pickard

Kay Barbara (Young) Pickard, born on August 4, 1946, in Gouverneur, New York, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Syracuse, NY. She was a person defined by her spunky personality and deep affection for animals, traits that made her a cherished figure to many throughout her life.

Kay dedicated 35 years of her career to Crouse Hinds, where she worked in various capacities. On March 10, 1973, Kay married her late husband, Jack Pickard, a marriage filled with love and companionship until his passing in 2009.

She is survived by her daughter, Meaghan (Dave) Christian; four grandsons, Jacob (Carly) Christian, Zachary Christian, Benjamin Christian, and Jack Christian, who will carry her legacy forward. Additionally, she is remembered by her siblings, John (Donna) Young, Robert (Jeanne) Young, Judy (John) Forsythe, and Pam (Robert) Smith; her loving companion, Pasquale Pascarella; as well as several nieces and nephews that she adored deeply.

Preceding her in death were her beloved husband, Jack Pickard; her parents, John and Jessie Young; her sister, Nancy Oliver; and her brothers, Timothy and James Young.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on June 30, 2025, from 10:00AM - 12:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM. Both services will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. Burial will be held privately.
