Kenneth C. Isgar, Sr.

Kenneth C. Isgar, Sr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on February 10, 2026, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, New York, at the age of 94. Born on December 12, 1931, in Syracuse, Kenneth was a dedicated member of his community and will be remembered for his passion for life and his love for those around him.

Kenneth devoted 30 years of his career to General Electric in Syracuse, where he made lasting contributions to the company and formed cherished friendships. Beyond his professional pursuits, he was an avid country music fan, finding joy in playing guitar and singing with his close friend, Lori Ann. His love for music brought happiness not only to him but also to those who had the pleasure of hearing him play. Fishing was another of Kenneth's cherished pastimes, which allowed him to connect with nature and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Ken was huge Buffalo Bills and SU Fan. He also enjoyed going to the Nationals every year to see the classic cars.

Kenneth was known for his warm personality and his wise adage, “Never take any wooden nickels, cause they don't spend." This phrase encapsulated his humorous yet practical approach to life, endearing him to many.

He is survived by his daughter, Tina (John) Shanahan; son, Robert Isgar (Raelynne Liberatore); and 12 grandchildren, Joey (Heather), Jennifer, Ryan (Courtney), Gavin, Devin, Sabrina, Adam, Abbey, Kenneth, III, Anthony, Chelsea, and Christina. He took great pride in his family, which also includes two brothers, Clifford Isgar and Ricky (Marylou) Isgar; a sister-in-law, Carolyn; and many nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was predeceased by his son, Kenneth Isgar, Jr. & Rosemary, two brothers, Billy Isgar and Fred Isgar; and three sisters, Betsy Paranteau, Helen Long and Dolores Wilhoite.

A visitation in honor of Kenneth C. Isgar, Sr. will be held on February 17, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212, followed by a service at 7pm.
