Kenneth W. Osborne escaped the restraints of ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease) on November 6, 2014. Having been diagnosed five-and-a-half years ago, Ken was lovingly cared for by his wife, Cynthia and grandsons, Gary and Chad Smith, and Sean Mott for the past three years. Ken was Honorary PAL for the ALS Association's Walk this year with a team of over 75 people.
Ken was a workaholic, retiring from Lockheed Martin after 30 years of service as a plumber-pipefitter. He was a volunteer fireman for Southwood Fire Department for 38 years and maintained a lifetime membership. He was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, motorcycles, boating, and camping. He took great pleasure in maintaining and enjoying his five acre camp on Fish Creek until he could no longer do so because of his ALS.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Osborne; his brother, Keith (Barbara) Osborne and their children; an uncle, Randy (Sharon) Money and daughter; an aunt, Fran Newcomb and family. He leaves his son, Kenneth R. (Theresa) Osborne; grandchildren Hannah and Carson; daughter, Tammy Henson; grandchildren Ashley and Brandon; step-daughter, Carol (Robert) Sinesi; grandchildren Chad and Gary Smith, Samantha and Robert Sinesi; step-daughter, Janet Files (James Donato Jr.); grandson Sean Mott; great-grandson, Carter Mott; and extended family, Tony Pigeon (Alyssa Romano), Robert (Kristi) Casimiro, Niko Casimiro and their mother, Kelli Jones.
Calling hours will be 4-6pm Tuesday with a service immediately following, all at New Comer Funeral Home, N. Syracuse.
