Born in Lockport, NY, to Pauline and Vernon MacMillan, he spent much of his youth in Nedrow, NY. He graduated from Onondaga Central High School, class of 1963, and went on to attend CCBI.
His true passion was as a skilled machinist, employed with Rollway Bearing, and retiring from Babbit Bearings, where he was elected union steward, and then President of Local 1947 for many years, fighting for fairness and equality for all his beloved co-workers.
Kirk loved music and was a DJ at many local events. He loved antique cars and Corvettes and owned many through the years. He loved watching WWE wrestling every Friday night with pizza and wings.
North Syracuse became his home after he married the love of his life, Carole, on New Year's Eve of 1965; recently celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Together, they shared a passion for traveling to Antigua, Key West, and Coco Beach. Kirk loved all new adventures.
He had a kind and compassionate heart for all animals. His backyard was a haven for birds, rabbits, and wildlife, and he made sure all of god’s little creatures were fed and nurtured daily.
His true joy was spending time with his two beloved daughters, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whose presence lit up his life.
He had a deep devotion to God and watched “Les Feldick” daily to better understand the Bible. Kirk was a long-time communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church in N. Syracuse.
Kirk will be missed by all, especially his Siamese cat, Katy, who continues to look for him daily.
