Listen to Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kristi Jo LaRose, who entered into eternal rest on February 26, 2026, in her beloved hometown of Syracuse, NY. Born on April 14, 1957, Kristi brought light, laughter, and warmth into the lives of everyone she encountered. She was unexpectedly taken from us, leaving behind a rich tapestry of memories filled with joy and love.

Kristi was known fondly as “The Life of The Party,” a title she wore proudly due to her exceptionally outgoing nature. Those who knew her would often share stories of her vivacity and spirit, her laughter illuminating the room. Her remarkable talent as a cook was unparalleled, with her legendary meatballs bringing family and friends together around the dinner table. A gifted dancer, Kristi embraced every moment and had a knack for turning the simplest gatherings into unforgettable celebrations. She dedicated her life to assuring her family was cared for. She was married to the love of her life for 51 years, the kind of love you read about in fairytales. Her pasttimes included cooking, making special quilts for each member of her family, and ripping up the dance floor until her body no longer allowed her to do so. Her infectious laugh and warm heart will leave a void in the hearts of all who knew her.

She attended of Blodgette Junior High School and later furthered her education. Finally contributed her zest for life not only in her personal ventures but also in her career. Throughout her life, Kristi showcased her work ethic and dedication while employed at Penny Curtiss Bakery, McMillan Book Company, and PCI, all situated within Syracuse. Each position reflected her unique character and commitment to spreading happiness through her interactions.

At the heart of Kristi's world were her cherished family and friends. She is survived by her loving spouse, Ronald LaRose, and her devoted children, Roni (Raymond) Siko and David LaRose. Throughout her life, she delighted in the company of her grandchildren—Autumn, Alexis, Dawson, Morgan, Kyrsten, and Hayli—and was blessed with many great-grandchildren. Kristi’s connection to her family was deep and unwavering, as was her affection for her siblings: Sheila Reynolds, Wanda McGrath, Robin (Mitchell) Jock, Holly (Santo) Saya, John (Linda) Hemingway, Barry (Debbie) Hemingway, and Amber (Ron) Nutting. Together, they formed a close-knit family where love and support were abundant, enriched by shared stories and treasured moments. She will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews whose lives she touched with her kindness and joy.

Sadly, Kristi was preceded in death by her two brothers, Joe and Brian Hemingway, and her two sisters, Lori and Mary Hemingway, who now greet her in a place of peace.

A visitation will be held to honor Kristi’s life on March 5, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, located at 705 N Main St, Syracuse, NY 13212. This gathering will be an opportunity for family and friends to come together, share stories, and celebrate the extraordinary life of a remarkable woman who meant so much to so many.

Kristi Jo LaRose will forever be remembered for her larger-than-life presence, her unrivaled skill in the kitchen, and her unwavering love for her family. While her physical presence may no longer be with us, her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
