Lee C. Vogelsang, 92, of Liverpool, NY passed away at Iroquois Nursing Home after a brief illness. He was born in Syracuse, NY on October 27, 1933 to the late Leland Vogelsang and Mildred Vogelsang.
He was a devoted husband to his wife of 65 years, Loretta (Ezzo) Vogelsang, who preceded him in death in April 2020. He retired from P&C Warehouse after 25 years of service. He thought fondly of his younger years, and grew nostalgic of his brief time in the Navy before he had to return home to take care of his big family with his mother, who lived into her 90s, when his father passed away at very young age. Lee was a quiet man who will be remembered for his one-liners, corny jokes and scratch off lottery tickets. He enjoyed visiting the casinos and doing the Jumble puzzle in the paper. He very much enjoyed living at the Ravada Hill Apartments with his neighbors who he became close with and helped keep an eye on him. He also took pleasure in visiting his friends at the John Glenn Wegman's and McDonalds nearly everyday.
He is survived by his children, sons, Leland A. Vogelsang of Camillus, NY, Glenn D. Vogelsang, M.D. (Cecilia) of Oshkosh, WI, and loving and main caregiver daughter, Jeanne M. Comer (Thomas) of Clay, NY. A loving grandfather to Renee Vogelsang (Marcus). He is survived by siblings Gerald (Betty) Vogelsang, Alan (Chris) Vogelsang; and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Neil Vogelsang, Keith Vogelsang, Leatrice Morgan and Marlene Venton.
He is now at peace and joining his wife, together with all of his late family member on the other side.
There will be no services per Lee's wishes.
