Lester John Cottet

Lester John Cottet, 88, of Syracuse, passed away on August 24, 2026 in his home.

Born on February 16, 1938 to Lester and Florence (Goettel) Cottet, he spent his life here in Syracuse, where he had many jobs, including holding the position of Head Custodian for Syracuse City School District. Lester also served in the U.S. Air Force as a part of the 174th Attack Wing. 

He is survived by his loving family, children, Robin (Richard) Zadlo, Robert (Laurie) Cottet, Ronald (Grenann) Cottet, sibling, William Cottet, cousins, Dick, Ed, and Bob Woodworth, and grandchildren, Mary, Billy, Joseph, Michael, Michelle, Jason, Scott, Jenniffer, and Kennley.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Florence. 

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, 10am to 12pm, with a Ceremony at 12pm, at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, North Syracuse, New York

Graveside Service will take place on Monday, August 31, 2026 12:00 pm at Assumption Cemetery, 2401 Court St, Syracuse, NY.
