Lina M. Vergara

Lina Vergara, 50, of Syracuse, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 18, 2025. Born on February 9, 1975, in Medellín, Colombia, Lina was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother and friend. She loved her family deeply, enjoyed dining out, and cherished time spent with her loved ones.

She is survived by her children, Issaiah Vergara (Tysheria Thomas), Aaliyah Muolo Vergara, and Verl Ortman Jr; her parents, Maria and Cesar Vergara; sister, Analisa Vergara; nieces and nephew, Talia Vergara, Analiyah Flores-Vergara, and Azariah Vergara; and her three beloved granddaughters, Isabella, Arkaya, and Lynnaya. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Lina was predeceased by her brother, Cesar Vergara.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025 from 2-4PM at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, with a service to follow at 4PM. The burial will be held privately at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Lina will be remembered for her loving heart and the joy she brought to those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
