Linda Jean Crook, 73, passed away on January 17, 2026. Linda was born on January 26, 1952.
Linda was a proud graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, Class of 1970, and went on to earn her degree in preschool education from Columbia College in Columbia, Missouri in 1975.
She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Crook Jr.; her mother, Patricia (Ruddy) Crook; and her brother, Scott Crook; and many beloved pets who brought her endless joy and companionship over the years.
Linda is survived by her brother, Kenneth Crook III (Laura) of Williamsburg, VA; her children, Michelle Rulison (Kristopher) of Forest, VA, Andrew James Clark (Susan) of Syracuse, NY, Marcus Reinsmith (Jillian) of Manlius, NY, and Jamison Arbuckle of Central Square, NY; and her five beloved grandchildren, Madison, Kara, Abrianna, Katherine, and Andrew. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Linda loved music, animals, drawing, singing, dancing, and baking. She had a legendary sweet tooth, especially for carrot cake, and anyone who knew her learned quickly that dessert wasn’t just a treat, rather an important food group – a trait she proudly passed down to her grandchildren.
Linda truly never met a stranger and enjoyed striking up conversations with everyone she met, leaving people feeling like they had known her for years. Linda was also a longtime supporter of Alcoholics Anonymous and celebrated over 30 years of sobriety—an accomplishment that reflected her strength, resilience, and commitment to helping others.
She held a special place in her heart for the Adirondack Mountains, and Raquette Lake, where she made years of treasured memories with family and friends during summers spent together.
Calling hours are Saturday, January 24, 2-4pm with a service to follow at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 705 N Main St, North Syracuse, NY 13212
