Lloyd Clookey

1954 — 2025

Lloyd Clookey, a beloved member of the community and cherished family man, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 70.

Born on June 20, 1954, Lloyd was known affectionately as the "Mayor of Oak Street," a testament to the warmth and kindness he radiated to everyone he encountered.

Lloyd proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, which was a significant and formative experience in his life. He also spent time stationed in Germany, where he formed friendships and memories that would last a lifetime.

Upon returning home, he settled into a life characterized by love and laughter, quickly becoming a fixture in his neighborhood. Known for his quick wit and endless repertoire of jokes, Lloyd created a welcoming atmosphere, particularly on Christmas Eve when he would host gatherings for friends and family. His home was often filled with laughter as he entertained guests, and his natural ability to connect with people left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

He had various interests that brought him joy, including playing the guitar and watching Western movies with the volume turned up high, a perfect companion to his evenings spent sitting outside, enjoying a cigarette, and observing the world around him. Lloyd often frequented the corner store at Oak & Park Streets, where he forged bonds with local residents and became a familiar figure within the community.

Lloyd's legacy lives on through his beloved family. He is survived by his sons, Lloyd Joseph III Clookey and Troy West, his daughter, Lisa Ann Clookey, two siblings, and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will remember him fondly.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Clookey, his son, Stephen Clookey, his father, Lloyd Joseph Sr., his mother, Mary Jane Clookey, and several brothers and sisters.

Lloyd will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His laughter, kindness, and love will resonate through the memories he created, ensuring that his legacy of joy endures.
