Listen to Obituary

Lynne Marie Jones of Cicero passed away with the rising sun on June 16, 2026. Born in Auburn, New York on May 30, 1966, she made her home in Central New York, and it was here — among the lakes, trails, and mountains — that she built a life defined by service and an open heart.

Lynne, a devoted nurse, spent most of her career at Crouse Hospital, where the compassion she carried into every part of her life found its truest calling. To be cared for by Lynne was to be met with patience and a bright smile. She later joined the Nurses Honor Guard of New York State, standing watch for the colleagues who had answered the same calling she did. She believed in lifelong learning and recently earned her master’s degree at Keuka College.

She was happiest outdoors. Whether she was biking, hiking a wooded trail, kayaking on open water, or snowshoeing through a Syracuse winter, Lynne sought out any reason to be outside. She loved bringing people together with food. To her family and friends, she was known as “Chef Lynne.” That same spirit carried into her faith, and she was a loyal and devoted member of St. Cecilia's and Our Lady of Peace Parish in Solvay.

But it was her family that measured the whole of her. Her love for them was, by any honest accounting, beyond measure — she would drop anything, at any hour, simply to be near the people she adored. To her children, Josh and Ashley, she was the voice of reason and a safe haven throughout their lives. Her time was the gift she gave most freely: to her family, to the many friends who became family, and to her grand-dogs, Sadie and Margie, who were rarely far from her side.

Lynne is survived by her mother, Bonnie Clark of Camillus; her father, David P. Jones of Moravia; her daughter, Ashley Wolfe of Cicero; and her son, Joshua Wolfe of Baldwinsville. She is also survived by her siblings, Lori Jones of Moravia, Kristen Jones-Kolod (Alex) of Pompey, Michael Jones (Nicole) of Bloomfield, Amy Jayne (Dan) of Marcellus, and Brian Jones (Laura) of Moravia; her nieces and nephews, Taressa Santiago (Justin) of Elbridge, Sierra Kolod, Ben Jones, Grace Jones, Molly Jones, and Nathan Jones; and her great-nieces and nephews, Alessondra and Caden.

Lynne spent her life giving her time, her compassion, and her smile to everyone around her. That is exactly how she will be remembered, and the warmth she shared will stay with all who knew her.
