Marie Magdalene Figal

Marie Magdalene Figal, 92, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Connecticut, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Pennsylvania on July 7, 1933, Marie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was the last of 12 siblings in the Kizina family and leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Marie is pre-deceased by her husband Eugene Figal and survived by her daughters, Gina Neddermann and Laura Maderi; sons-in-law, Todd Neddermann and Denny Maderi; and four cherished grandchildren: Mitchell and Claudia Neddermann, and Justin and Emily Maderi.

Affectionately known as “Saint Marie” and “Mrs. Macho,” Marie will be remembered for her warm smile, gentle heart, generous spirit, and deep patience. A passionate gardener and canning enthusiast, she found joy in the simple things and brought comfort to many.

Marie dedicated much of her life to caring for others, both as a loving mother and as a compassionate registered nurse. Her deep love for animals led her to welcome many strays into her home, and she was a longtime supporter of the ASPCA.

Funeral services will be private for immediate family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the ASPCA.
