Marilyn Davis Alt, 90, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026 at Menorah Park. She was born in Syracuse, NY on November 26, 1935 to the late Raymond and Loretta (Lenhart) Davis. Marilyn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother.
As a girl Marilyn was a very successful student consistently scoring high grades. Following school Marilyn embarked on her married life, ultimately becoming a loving mother of two daughters. She assisted her husband in his business endeavors which included contracting and farm operations.
Marilyn was an avid gardener, creating beautiful gardens. She was a talented sketch artist and enjoyed painting adorable faces on Halloween pumpkins. She was an avid reader and especially read westerns. Marilyn enjoyed listening to a variety of music, from polkas to showtunes. She was a movie buff with older musicals being top of her list. One TV show that Marilyn would never want to miss was the Lawrence Welk Show. Marilyn loved animals, especially dogs and horses. She had a special bond with her dogs Julie and Amy. She was fascinated by the beauty of birds and therefore was a bird watcher.
She is predeceased by her loving husband of 50 years, Donald Alt, brothers, Donald and Richard Davis and a sister Joan LeBlanc.
She is survived by her daughters, Kathleen (Arthur) Liberman, Maureen Matthews, grandchildren, Matthew (Rachael) Wioncek, Greg Wioncek (partner Kristen), Renee (Tim) Cordell, Marc (Mary) Matthews, great grandchildren Alonna, Chase, Kira, Arya Cordell, Leon Matthews, a sister Marge Humphrey, a sister-in-law Jean Davis, along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Pine Plains Cemetery, Clay on Tuesday January 20th at 11:30am.
