Marilyn D. Hayes

Marilyn Denise Hayes, 64, of Syracuse, passed away April 19, 2026. Marilyn was born in Clarksdale, Mississippi on October 18, 1961 to Douglas and Catherine Howard. Marilyn was employed by Upstate University Hospital. In her free time, she enjoyed watching TV, liked westerns, comedy and action movies with Clint Eastwood and Mel Gibson being her favorite actors. She also liked ice skating, attending church, listening to gospel music and playing games on her phone.  

She was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Howard and mother Catherine Howard.

She is survived by her husband Johnny Hayes, Step-Daughter, Zhuantina Hayes; Three Sisters, Lillian Howard, Jessie Whatley, Helen Howard; Brother, Charles Howard; many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Family and friends may call on Friday, April 24, 2026 from 11am-12pm at The Greater Holy Temple Church #2, 643 W Onondaga St, Syracuse, NY. followed by a funeral service at 12pm.   

Burial will be Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 12 Noon at Loomis Hill Cemetery, Onondaga Hill.
