Marion B. Mirizio

Marion B. Mirizio, known to many as Honey, passed away on September 22, 2026, at the age of 94.

Honey was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family was at the center of her life. She was known for her warmth and for the simple joys she cherished. She loved spending her winters in Florida and enjoyed many happy times at the Turning Stone Casino. In the kitchen, she was a wonderful baker, especially remembered for her Italian cookies and her chocolate cake, which will remain a fond memory to those who knew and loved her.

Throughout her working life, Honey was a waitress at many restaurants in and around Syracuse. She was also a hairdresser, bringing care and conversation to the people she served in both roles. Her years of work reflected her energy, her connection to others, and her steady presence in the lives of many.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Anne (Dale) Rinker and Michele Mirizio, and by her daughter-in-law, Judy Mirizio. Sister-in-law, Marie (August) Russo. Eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews, and cousins. They, along with those who shared in her life and love, will remember her with deep affection and gratitude.

Honey was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Thomas Mirizio Sr.; her son, Frank “Tommy” Mirizio Jr.; her father and mother, August and Mary Russo; her sisters, Ann Shirley Labruzzo and Margert Davirro; and her brothers, John and August Russo.

Honey will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her hardworking spirit, and the happiness she found in time spent with those she loved. Her memory will be carried forward by her family and all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A calling hour will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 9 to 10 am with a funeral mass to follow at St. John the Baptist Church, 406 Court Street, Syracuse, NY 13208.
