Mark R. Stevens

Mark Richard Stevens, 60, of Syracuse, formerly of LaFayette, went home to Glory on September 27, 2025.

Mark was diagnosed with pancreatic adenocarcinoma in July, and the disease progressed rapidly. He faced his illness with quiet strength, much like the way he lived his life.

Mark was a reserved man who valued solitude. He found peace and joy in nature, especially while hunting—an activity he deeply loved and often turned to for reflection and escape.

He is survived by one brother and five sisters, who will remember him with love and respect.

A special thanks to the excellent and compassionate care provided by the staff at Francis House during Mark’s final days.

Graveside services will be private. Contributions in Mark’s memory may be made to Francis House, Syracuse, in honor of the comfort and dignity they provided.
