Mary A. Groth, 85, of Liverpool, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2024, with family by her side at Elderwood Rehabilitation. Born on January 21, 1939, Mary lived life to the fullest, on her own terms, with joy and a deep love for her family. She graduated from North High and was predeceased by her parents, Tullia Spensieri Giliberti and Cosimo Giliberti; her sister, Diane Panettiere and her husband, of thirty years, Paul R. Groth.
Mary was a vibrant spirit with a zest for life. She enjoyed the art of cosmetology and over the years, worked in various fields, including at the County Probation Office and GE. Ultimately, she found her greatest joy in serving others at her beloved Gram’s Diner, where she shared her passion for cooking and created a warm gathering place for friends and family. She finished her work career running the kitchen at Bowl Mor Lanes, where she proudly served thousands of bowlers throughout Central New York. Mary enjoyed competition and was proud of the many league championships she won over the years. She had a knack for finding joy in games of chance, always savoring the thrill of a well-spun reel.
Mary’s family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her children, Kathleen Campany, Joyce Salvagni (Mark), Richard MacBain, James MacBain (Christine), Mark MacBain, and Kimberley Anselmo (Charles); as well as, her two nieces, Angela Kuhn and Christine Panettiere. Her legacy continues through her 16 grandchildren: Timothy, Tabatha, Tracy, Mark, Mike, David, Anthony, Christopher, Jeffrey, James, PJ, Shelby, Katie, Chase, Kelly, and Cole, along with six beautiful great-grandchildren: Dexter, Maxwell, Aedan, Jaxson, Cecelia, and EvaMae.
