Michael J. Hanover, a longtime member of the Cape Cod community, passed away on June 1, 2025, at the age of 67.
Born on September 2, 1957, Michael lived a life with love, laughter, and a commitment to his passions.
For 15 years, Michael served as the Inn Keeper at the Seadar Inn by the Sea, where he created a welcoming environment for visitors seeking to experience the beauty of Cape Cod. His dedication to hospitality was evident in the warmth he extended to every guest, making lasting impressions with his charm and kindness.
A proud graduate of Bishop Ludden High School in 1976, Michael furthered his education at Syracuse University and Niagara University. His pursuit of knowledge was complemented by an abiding love for the outdoors, which manifested in hobbies that included sailing, fishing, and long walks with his beloved dog, Cocoa.
Michael had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, whom he loved to spoil by taking them to the U.S. Open tennis tournament, fishing and various other events. These memories will be a source of comfort for his family.
He is survived by his sisters, Johanna Basile, Sharon (Carlo) Cotellesse, Dale Cole, and Marylou Wise; his brothers, Edward (Sharon) Hanover and Daniel (Catherine) Hanover; his former wife, Marianne Hanover; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward F. Hanover Sr.; his mother, Mary Louise Hanover; and his sister, Barbara Wagner.
His spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
