Michael E. Maroney, 74, of Syracuse passed away May 11, 2025.

Mike was born in Syracuse, NY on December 10, 1950 to William Maroney Sr. and June (Vieau) Maroney. After residing in Syracuse for a long time, he moved to Georgia and North Carolina before returning home in 2023.

Mike was a proud graduate of St. Lucy's Academy in Syracuse, NY. He attended the University of Notre Dame and Onondaga Community College. He helped many, working at the Department of Social Services for over thirty years. Mike had his own business for many years, preparing tax returns. He later pursued a passion for wood working, building his family furniture that will be around for years. Mike was a spirit and wine guru who could pair a great meal with a perfect wine.

Mike loved to prepare a meal for his family while telling a great story or sharing his love of music. He took great pride in his name and his heritage. Mike was the man you called when you didn't know the answer. His wise words and lessons will live on.

He is predeceased by his parents and sister, Patricia and brother, Mark.

He is survived by his sister, Ann Marie (Paul) and his brothers; William Jr. (Diane), Paul (Brenda), Thomas (Elizabeth), Timothy (Linda) along with many nieces and nephews.

HIs proudest accomplishment are his children; Heather (Chance), Erin (Gregory), and his son, Michael as well as his grandchildren; Brianna (Errick), Chance, Corey and great-granddaughter, Maliah.
